Why would you like to be a doctor rather than any other healthcare professional?

Begin with a clear structure to your answer without backtracking or contradicting yourself. This is a challenging question but it is important to think of your goals and individual reasons as well as having a clear understanding of the healthcare professions.A model answer may consist of some of the following points ‘My interest in helping others in a clinical setting is one of the main reasons for pursing medicine as a career. Therefore I respect all healthcare professionals and the roles in which they are play in the multi disciplinary team. However I would specifically like to become a Doctor as I enjoy leading the team as well as being actively involved in one. I also enjoy the idea of the diagnostic challenges of becoming a doctor, something which is not as predominant in other health care professions.’
