Describe the necessity for a reflex action to occur when, for example, touching a hot surface (2)

A reflex action is much faster than a normal, conscious movement, which enables a person to remove themselves from a dangerous stimulus much faster, to reduce the damage which would be caused if a reflex was not possible.(Here the question is asking why a reflex is preferable when touching a hot surface, rather than a conscious thought process, resulting in voluntary movement away from the stimulus, which would cause worse burns)
