How do I structure a convincing argument?

To structure a convincing argument, it is easiest to follow this plan to answer your question. First of all, ensure that you are actually answering the question directly, An easy way to do this is to rephrase the question itself into an answer in the first sentence of your answer. This ensures that you are focused. Then, follow this up with some evidence to back up your claim- remember you can not base your argument on a point that you can not justify with facts, otherwise this becomes assertion. Next, explain how your evidence is used to prove your point- explain how you came to your conclusions that made up your argument. Finally, link this all together by answering the question again to end the paragraph. This ensures that the answer never strays too far from the question and gives a tight and focused response which is more likely to enter the higher marks
