What is a good basic structure for an essay?

Having a structure for your essay before you start writing is vital for a coherant and well displayed arguement. You should start of with an introduction explaining any information in the title and outlining 3-5 points you are going to talk about. Then your points should be clearly structured into Point, Evidence, Explanation and the end of each paragraph should link in some way to the beginning of the next one. At the end of the essay you should try to answer the question posed as your title explaining how the points in your essay have proved the conclusion you have come to. Your conclusion should be short snappy and as long as your introduction.
