How can I utilise all time given in an exam efficiently?

HI! Exams can sometimes be a stressful environment and this can sometimes lead to us panicking and consequently dropping the ball. With a subject like English, essays are integral and in order to maximise your time to achieve the best essay possible (despite stressful circumstances)and so I would suggest following a personalised schedule to keep you on track! This will aid completion of the essay and also help you to approach what can sometimes be an overwhelming essay in a methodical and easier to comprehend format. Usually an hour is given per essay and so time management is key, personally I like to break up an hour's worth of essay writing into 10 minutes of planning (this is where you read the questions carefully, decide upon which you have the most interesting things to write about and consequently formulate your argument and stance), 40 minutes of writing the essay in question and finally 10 minutes to proofread and ensure that your writing is coherent and grammatically correct. This is a fantastic rule of thumb for approaching an essay and if adhered to will allow you to utilise every second given in an exam scenario!
