Briefly outline the process of synaptic transmission (2 marks)

Neurotransmitters are released from the pre-synaptic neuron into the synaptic cleft. The neurotransmitters then bind to receptor sites on the post-synaptic neuron's dendrites. (Include a diagram to aid students understanding)
