Creation versus Evolution

For most religions, there is a Supreme being that created the universe. According to Christian belief, the universe and the species therein was created in six days. However, with Darwin and his theory of evolution, this long held belief in most religions have been questioned. The theory proposes that the universe and all species developed from earlier forms of life.

The society is getting confused on what to believe about the origin of the universe - creation or evolution

It is important that while evolution has been scientifically proven, creation has lacked their verifiability. However, one should point out that they operate with different paradigms. In other words, religious beliefs are not open to the principle of verification adopted in science. Therefore, both arguments are correct within their sphere.

Neverthelss, the question of what to believe can best be answered by striking a balance between the two. A combination of evolutution and creation tagged evolutionary creationism.

In a nutshell, this means that God created through evolution; the universe was created but the development of species evolved as can be seen in the various days of creation. The Christian scriptures say that one day in the sight of the Lord is like a thousand years come and gone. (Psalm 90:4)
