What are some of the impacts associated with a country whose population is ageing?

As the average age of a population grows older, there will be an increased demand for health and social care. Furthermore, it becomes an economic burden for the country to provide satisfactory pensions as these are funded for by the smaller working population. An example can be seen in the UK where they have proposed changes to the pension age. They state that from December 2018 they want to increase the pension age for both men and women to 66 by the end of 2020.
