What is the difference between the function of a receptor and the function of an effector.

Receptors detect and sense changes in their surroundings, called stimuli, e.g. a light receptor. Effectors produce the response to the stimulus, e.g. a muscle.

I definitely recommed watching with subtitles in the target language. Even if you don't understand everything it is a really good way to recognise vocabulary and improve your accent for certain words.
