Fully expand (2x+4)(4x-3).

Answer:

8x2+10x-12

Explanation:

It is really important that every 'term' is multiplied by every other 'term'. A 'term' doens't just refer to the number but also to the sign in front of it i.e. the terms in this questions are +2x,+4, +4x and -3.

In order to make sure that every term is fully multiplied by the others you should use the mooning technique. Draw a line coming from each term to the other terms to ensure that all have been connected. (show on whiteboard).

Then the only thing left is to collect the similar terms together. This means that any term with an x to the same power goes together.
