How do you calculate the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle if the two shorter sides are 6 and 8?

The point (-3, -4) is the turning point of the graph of y = x^2 + ax + b, where a and b are integers. Find the values of a and b.

If the hypotenuse of a triangle is 7cm and another side is 4cm, what's the length of the other side? How can I work this out?
