Assess the importance of the reasons for the increase in tensions between East and West between 1945 and 1949

Intro - short - introduce factors: ideology, personalities of big 3, Yalta and Potsdam, Germanyidentify reason you see as most important
Start with factor seen as least important eg, the issue of Germany, can say that it ties into other factors, and without the German question, the Cold War would still have existed Continue to evaluate factors, bringing in key dates - not using a strictly chronological structure
Build up to final section, where you would argue that (for example) Ideology was ultimately the most important reason for increasing tensions. - Ideology underpinned the actions of both sides (and the policies of the West and the USSR)
In conclusion: briefly run over other arguments used and reiterate the importance of ideology, don't bring in any new factors.
