Explain how a plant is able to make glucose from carbon dioxide.

Plants carry out photosynthesis which contains the light dependant and light independent reaction . CO2 is used in the light independent reaction- the Calvin cycle. Co2 enters the stroma in a chloroplast and binds with ribulose bisphosphate. Rubisco catalyses the formation of 2x GP from RuBP. This then uses 2x ATP and 2x reduced NADP from the light dependant reaction to form 2xTP 2xADP and 2x NADP. This TP can then be used to make glucose. One glucose molecule requires 6 cycles as one carbon is lost during a cycle. The rest of th TP is regenerated into RUBP for the cycle to continue.
