Ben wants to book tickets to see a concert. The price of the ticket is £65. He must also pay a booking fee, which is 15% of the ticket price. Ben has £75, does he have enough money to pay for the ticket and booking fee?

The first step is finding what 15% of 65 is, i.e, calculating the booking fee. This can be done by multiplying 65 by 0.15 (0.15 being what 15% would be, if expressed in decimal form).65 x 0.15 = 9.75.This second step is to add this booking fee to the original ticket price.65 + 9.75 = 74.75The final step is to state that Ben therefore does have enough money to buy the ticket and booking fee.
