I have so much to mention in my personal statement but not enough characters - how do I know what is most important?

When it comes to writing your personal statement, start by focusing on any extracurricular activities which demonstrate a passion for what you are applying for. For example, if you are applying to politics or international relations, mention your participation in Model United Nations and what it taught you. Next, mention activities which have given you skills that are beneficial, for example, duke of Edinburgh taught you to forward think and cooperate well with other people. Your personal statement is not the place to mention exam successes as your GCSE results are shared with the university anyway. Finally, if there is any achievements you'd like mentioned that is not shared in your statement speak to one of your references or your application tutor and ask for them to touch upon it in their own statement.
