Write down the value of 36^0.5

We know that the question is asking us to take the number 36 to the power of 0.5. By assumption 0.5 can be written as 1/2. To take 36 to the power of a 1/2 we take it to the root of the denominator and then to the power of the numerator. So the square root of 36 is 6. Then 6 to the power of 1 is 6. So our answer is 6.
