Calculate the area of a circle of diameter 8cm

Solution:

We can first write down the formula for the area of a circle which is pi*(radius)^2.

The radius of the circle is half the diameter, so radius= 1/2(8)=4cm.

Therefore the area of the circle is: pi* (4^2)= 50.27cm(2.d.p) Ans
