Solve the inequality 6y+5>8?
First think how you would solve this if it was simply an '=' sign instead of a >
Deduct 5 from both sides
This would give us 6y>3
Divide both sides by 6
Think: because this is an inequality, is the value you are dividing by >0, in this cae it is so the inequality sign remains the same way around.
