Express 56 as the product of the its prime factors.

We will answer this question by drawing a prime factor tree.Start with 56 at the top of the page. Draw two branches coming off 56. 56 = 2 x 28, write 2 and 28 under the separate branches. Circle 2 as it is a prime number. Now draw two branches coming off 28. 28 = 2 x 14. Repeat the process. Repeat until you have 2 branches where both numbers are circled as they are both prime numbers. All the circled numbers are the prime factors of 56.
Therefore the product of prime factor of 56 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 7 = 23 x 7
