What is the difference between a conformer and a regulator?

A conformer is an organism which is unable to regulate its own internal temperature, therefore, it's internal environment is dependent upon its external environment (e.g. lizards). Whereas a regulator is an organism that can use metabolic processes to regulate their internal environments to respond to external environmental changes (e.g. mammals).
