A rectangle has an area of 20 cm2. Its lengths are enlarged by a factor of 3. What is the area of the new rectangle?

Length scale factor (l.s.f) = 3
Area scale factor (a.s.f.) = 32 = 9
New area = original area x (a.s.f.) = 20 x 9 = 180 cm2
