What is bell hook's theory on inequality?

bell hooks argues that inequality is not just related to one's gender, and an intersectional approach must be taken to fully understand inequality. How people are portrayed in the media may also relate to their ethnicity, class, age, and disability. This may be useful to think about when analysing a media text.
