"how should I answer a 16 marker that asks me to "describe and evaluate"

When the question asks you to describe and evaluate remember it is asking for you to show your A01 knowledge (descriptive knowledge ) AND your A03 knowledge (the strengths and limitations of the A01). 16 markers can seem scary but once you break it down they are not hard to answer so don't panic. 8 marks should go to you describing the study, theory or model in question and its findings and 8 should go towards the strengths and limitations. Try to remember your research methods and key debates here, such as the free will vs determinism debate as these are good points you can easily use to evaluate and relate to any A01 content. Remember you are aiming for around 25 words per mark so approximately 400 words (around 4-5 well written paragraphs). With 16 markers it is easy to deviate but remember to stay clear and concise making sure you highlight the key points. Often it is helpful to write a quick plan at the top of the page so you stay on topic.
