Solve: x^2 + 2x - 3 = 0

(x2+2x - 3) = 0 We need to find 2 numbers that multiply to make -3 and add to make 2. Once we have found them we can use them to find the solutions to the quadratic. Answer = (x+3)(x-1) = 0 therefore x = -3 and x = 1
