Three different brands of rice are on sale, which brand provides the best value for money? Their prices are: Brand A) 250g for £3.21, Brand B) 400g for £5.30, Brand C) 750g for £8.80

In order to compare the prices of each of these brands of rice, we will work out how much it costs to buy 100g of each brand - by using a consistent weight we can measure the prices against each other. The smallest value will tell us what the best value for money.Brand A)(250g/100g) = 2.5£3.21 / 2.5 = £1.28Brand B) (400g/100g) = 4£5.30 / 4 = £1.33Brand C)(750g/100g) = 7.5£8.80 / 7.5 = £1.17When we compare the 100g values we can see that the cheapest price is Brand C. Therefore, brand C offers the best value for money.
