What is the power dissipated by a 12 Ohm resistor when 2A of current run through it?
We know P=IV and that V=IR. Therefore as we are only given I and R in the question we can make the substitution for V so that P=I 2 R. By plugging in the numbers we get: P=2 2 x 12= 48W (W=Watts, unit of Power)

A ball is released from stationary at a great height. Explain how the forces acting on it change before it hits the ground and how these forces affect the velocity of the ball.
The initial velocity of the ball is 0, and so the only relevant force acting on it is weight pulling it downwards, so, the ball accelerates towards the ground. As the ball falls it hits air particles which c...

What height do geostationary satellites orbit above the Earths surface?
You are given the following values: M e = 6x10 24 kgR e = 6.37x10 6 mA geostationary satellite appears to an observer on the ground to always be at the same position on the sky. This means its orbit must be ...

How does the strong nuclear force between two nucleons varies with separation of the nucleons. Please detail the range over which the force acts.
The strong nuclear force is a fundamental force that binds quarks together to form nucleons. The force between nucleons is repulsive between similar nucleons (i.e. protons) before becoming attractive and bin...
