how am I meant to solve sq.root(6^2+8^2) = cube.root(125a^3) when one side is squared and the other is cubed?

first of all, have a look at each side separately to see you you can cancel anything down.e.g. the square and square root can cancel out. => sq.root(6 2 +8 2 ) = 6+8on the otherside, the cube, and cube ro...

Given a curve with parametric equations, x=acos^3(t) and y=asin^3(t), find the length of the curve between points A and B, where t=0 and t=2pi respectively.

The length of an arc between two points on a curve can be calculated in two ways; as the integral of ((dy/dx)^2 + 1)^1/2 between the values of the points, or as the integral of ((dy/dt)^2+(dx/dt)^2)^1/2 betw...

solve 125^(1/3)*2^(-3)

To find 125 1/3 we have to solve x 3 = 125 => This gives x=5 Then we have 2 -3 is equal to 1/(2 3 ) => This is equal to 1/8So to answer the question we have 5*(1/8)=5/8

solve x^3+2x^2+x=0

factorise x 3 +2x 2 +x=0 => x(x 2 +2x+1)=0 => x(x+1)(x+1)=0 => x(x+1) 2 =0 => This leads to x=0 and (x+1) 2 =0 so x=0 and x+1=0 => Giving us the answer x=0,-1
