calculate the resistivity in a 1.2m length of cylindrical wire with radius 1cm. The resistance of the wire is 0.01 kilo Ohms

The primary equation in this calculation is rho = RA/L Where rho is resistivity, A is cross sectional area, L is length, and R is resistance

The resistance and length are given in the question. Resistance however still needs to be converted to SI. This makes resistance 10 Ohms. At this point it would also be useful to convert radius into SI (0.01m).

To find area in a cylindrical wire from the radius, use A=pir^2 = 3.1410^-4

with all the components found in the correct units use rho=RA/L rho = 10 * 3.14 * 10^-4 / 1.2 = 2.6 * 10^-3 Ohm meters
