What sort of information should I put into my personal statement?

So the main thing about your personal statement is that you want to impress the reader right from the start, and show them how well suited you are for not just the course, but for further education in general. First of all I want you to list all of your achievements within school, other than exams, things like sports, any roles you may have such as house captain or prefect, and events or projects you took part in. Now I want you to list the things you do outside of school, things like scouts, a job, do you have an interest in your subject outside of the classroom? Do you read into history outside of class, do you try and program outside of the curriculum? What have you learned from these things? Something also very useful is identifying someone who inspres you (relevant to your subject). These things are what you are going to base your personal statement around.
