How might the Genitive case be used and translated in a sentence?

The primary use and translation of the genitive case is of a possessive nature. Therefore, in the example sentence of 'Caecilius went into the garden of Metella', Metella would be in the genitive case. There are further uses of the genitive case, for example, the Partitive Genitive, which denotes that the object described is only a section of a larger whole. The Genitive of Description/Measure is less frequently used, amd describes a person or a thing by indicating a distinctive quality: 'vir magni ingeni' - a very talented man.
