What skills do I need to demonstrate within an ELAT Exam?

Practise thinking critically about texts, words and phrases: The likelihood is that you will not recognise the text presented to you within the exam. However, you can prepare by sharpening up your analytical skills and thinking critically about any texts you encounter. You should be thinking about how the form, structure and language are being used to contribute to a unified image or idea within any text.

Practice making convincing arguments: In addition, be prepared to defend your findings through textual evidence and technical literary terminology. Practice articulating your arguments within a clear structure that establishes an opening point, textual evidence and concludes with an in-depth analysis.
