How do you apply Kirchhoff's current law?

Kirchhoff's current law states that the current flowing into a junction is the same as the current flowing out. This simply means that charges don't get stuck in junctions because of the force they exert on eachoter pushes them apart. Applying it means that you can write the currents flowing in on one side of the equation and currents flowing out on the other. After you apply this to all junctions you can find the currents and voltages in your circuit.
