A photon has an energy of 1.0 MeV. Calculate the frequency associated with this photon energy. State an appropriate unit in your answer.

The energy contained in a photon is given by the formula E = hf, where h is the Planck constant and f is the frequency of the photon. Since h = 4.110−15 eVs, f = E/h = 1.0103 eV / (4.110−15 eVs) = 2.11017s-1. Note: if the Planck constant is provided in J*s is suffices to divide by the elementary charge to obtain the value used here.

A sigma0 particle with mass 1193 MeV/c^2 decays into a lambda0 particle with mass 1116 MeV/c^2 a photon. Find the energy and momentum of the photon, assuming that the kinetic energy of the lambda0 particle is negligible.

An ideal gas within a closed system undergoes an isothermal expansion from an initial volume of 1m^3 to 2m^3. Given that the initial pressure of the gas is 10^5 Pa, find the final pressure of the gas following the expansion.

I do 400J of work compressing a gas, but I maintain the same temperature. What is the delta U, Q and W in this case?
