Which sentence contains the correct word order? A) Jeden Tag spiele ich Tischtennis mit meinen Geschwistern. B) Ich spiele Tischtennis zu Hause mit meinen Geschwistern jeden Tag. C) Jeden Tag ich spiele Tischtennis mit meinen Geschwistern.

A In German, the verb is always the second idea of a sentence. In the case of option A, 'Jeden Tag' is the first idea, therefore the verb, 'spiele' must come next, and it does. In option C, the verb is the third idea after the time and the subject of the activity, making this option incorrect.   In option B, the verb is in the correct place (it is the second idea after 'ich'), however it does not follow the rule of time, manner, place (TMP). This means that the 'time' component of the sentence, ie WHEN (jeden Tag) this person does something should come before the manner (mit meinen Geschwistern); and the place (zu Hause) comes at the end. Despite the verb being in the correct place, the rest of the word order is incorrect due to not following the TMP rule.
