What is parliamentary sovereignty?

Sovereignty means legal supremacy. So parliamentary sovereignty is a legal theory which stipulates that the supreme law-making authority in the UK is the Westminiter Parliament. This is evident by three propositions: parliament can legislate on any subject of its choosing; legislation cannot be overturned by any higher authority; and no parliament can bind its successors.
