Solve 7x – 9 = 3x + 2

aim is to move all numbers to one side and all the x to one side.
whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other side.
For example I want to remove -9 on the left by adding +9 to left side but I need to add +9 to right side as well
7x-9 + 9= 3x + 2 + 9
tidy it up7x=3x + 11
now remove 3x from both sides
7x-3x=3x-3x +11tidy it up4x=11and now tidy this up4x=11 and so x=11/4 which is 2.75
