What is the difference идти/ходить and ездить/ехать?

'In English, идти/ходить can be translated as 'to go by foot/to walk', while ехать/ездить can be translated as 'to go by transport' e.g. 'to go by bus', 'to drive'. These pairs of verbs are called transitive verbs, meaning that they are related to an activity that is done by a person or an object.Идти and ехать are one-way (unidirectional) verbs, meaning that they are used in a context, in which the person is going in a specific direction or with a specific destination in mind. For example, "Она идёт к подруге." - "She's going to a friend's place", with "friend's place" being a specific destination. Also, "Мы едем в Париж на машине" - "We're going to Paris by car", the destination being "Paris".Ходить and ездить are multi-directional verbs, meaning that they can be used in situations when an action is done regularly or it doesn't have a specific direction or purpose. For example, "Я часто хожу в парк." - " I go to the park a lot.", or "Мы ездили в Лондон в мае" - "We went to London in May" (with the implication that they returned back home).
