How can I remember classical languages/terms?

Practice makes perfect. There are a few ways you can do this:

FLASHCARDS

Write the classical term or name on one side, and the meaning or any relevant details on the other, and go through these perhaps one a day and you will find yourself knowing them in no time!

ROTE LEARNING

Not my favourite way, but it works. This consists of writing the names/terms out over and over until they stay in your head. This is not as useful for learning meaning but can still be a good tool for revision.

CONNECTIONS

You could make weird connections in your head between classical words/terms and other words/terms. For example, if a classical term sounds like a word in English (as they often do: Ancient Greek, and especially Latin, are linked to English!) then this can be incredibly helpful.

QUIZZES

You could try and make your own quizzes. This works on two levels:

a) You will learn whilst creating the quiz.

b) You now have a quiz for further learning/revision.

You could do this on paper, or try it online on sites such as memrise.com.

GAMES

You could make up games to play with friends. Sounds a bit lame, right? Well, I once played 'Guess Who' with characters from the Odyssey and let me tell you, I never forgot the name of the Cyclops Polyphemus ever again.
