3x+18=14x+2

Firstly you need to re arrange the equation in order to get x's on one side and the numbers on the other side.If you subtract 2 from both sides of the equations, you end up with 3x+16= 14x.Now if you subtract 3x from both sides, you will have 16=11x.Now we divide both sides by 11 to leave x by itself. Therefore x= 16/11
