What are the types of long term memory and how are they different?

Long term memory is split into two divisions; procedural which is knowing how to do something and declarative which is knowing that. Procedural memory is implicit whilst declarative memory is explicit. Declarative memory is then split further into two subsections; Semantic and Episodic. Semantic memory is where we store our general knowledge for example 'Paris is the capital of France'. Episodic memory is for memory of life events for example 9/11.
