To what extent did the rule of Peisistratos contribute to the development of Athenian democracy?

Before Peisistratos there was oligarchy, but not long after his and his sons’ tyranny Athens became a democracy, so in order to understand the effect that he had in Athenian politics, we must know the status quo that allowed him to usurp power in the first place.Briefly discuss the situation before Solon, then move on to Solon's reforms and how they set up the stage for Peisistratos.Explain how Peisistratos came to power (multiple times) and what changes he made to the constitution of Athens.Discuss whether he influenced Athens' path towards Democracy in a negative way. Was his rule so inhumane that people came to associate all tyranny with his rule and with harshness?Talk about Hippias' rule and whether he, rather than his father, was the 'bad tyrant' that made the Athenians despise tyranny.
