Explain SMART targets

SMART is an acronym for:
Specific- your target should be specific to your sport and easy to understand
Measurable- your target should be able to be measured easily with a value
Acheivable- your target shouldn’t be too high so that it is out of reach as this will decrease motivation
Realistic- similar to above, the goal should be realistic in terms of your ability
Time-bound- your goal should have a clear time frame as when it shall be completed
By using smart targets, it allows athletes to make targets that will be effective and give them a goal to work towards
