Explain what is meant by episodic, semantic, and procedural memory.

These are all types of long-term memory. Episodic memory is our memory store for personal events, it is our ability to recall memories from our daily lives. It is like a diary, memories are time stamped and include several elements, such as who was there, what the weather was like ect. This type of memory is recalled consciously.Semantic memory is our memory store for our knowledge of the world, it includes facts of what words and concepts mean, This memory store has been likened to an encyclopaedia, these memories are recalled consciously, though they are not time stamped.Procedural memory is our memory store for how to do things, memories of learned skills. These memories are not time stamped or recalled consciously.
