Define longshore drift and give an example.

Longshore drift is the geological process of movement of material (sand, clay shingles and/or pebbles) along the coastline. This is from waves which approach at an angle(45 degrees) and are blown from the prevailing winds. An example of longshore drift is the Holderness Coast where spurn point is located.
