What makes an A* essay ?

Many people fall into the trap of writing all the knowledge they know around a subject and expecting a high grade. Although a good knowledge of the topic is crucial there are many other things that you can do to make your essay stand out and gain higher marks. Examiners like when it is evident that the student has done independent research and therefore strengthens their essay and arguements.
