Explain two differences between two types of memory (4 marks)

Procedural memory is memory for skills, for example tying a shoe lace. People learn these skills, but often don't remember they did. Unlike procedural memory, episodic memories have context and emotion to them. A person remembers how they felt on the day of that memory, as there is a strong conscious memory trace laid down. The two types of memories are also stored in different areas of the brain. Episodic memories are associated with the hippocampus, whereas procedural memories are associated with the cerebellum.
