GCSE English Language (AQA), paper 1, Q3... How has the writer structured the text to interest you as a reader?

First, remember that this exam question is the hardest and, across both papers, is only worth 8 marks from the 160 on offer. So don’t panic too much! You’ll have many other opportunities to pick up marks.
Second, the question wants you to focus on how the writer has built the story. Ask your self, “What happens when and why?” It is not a language question! You can think about:* flashback* flash forward* repetition* time / setting changes* foreshadowing * links between the opening and ending* shifts in character voices or perspectives * internal thoughts vs. external description * zooming in and out (like a camera)
