How should I structure a good essay?

There area couple of key points to consider when structuring an A level English Essay:Firstly and most importantly you need to very carefully plan your essay. You can spend up to 15 minutes under exam conditions per essay.
In your plan you should have what each paragraph is about, as well as subpoints under each paragraph, pieces of evidence as well as quotes.
Then you should write the first and introductory sentence of each paragraph, which should be clear to signal to an examiner what you are discussing and will ensure you stay on topic throughout.
A good exam answer should have an introduction, 3-5 main body paragraphs and a conclusion.
