Using two or more of your drama texts, assess the ways in which the playwrights portray the human condition.

Your drama paper in English IB is designed to enable students to really understand the purpose and nature of drama. The backbone of many, if not all, pieces of literature is an urge to understand the human condition. In your plays, your playwrights will deal with the question of what it means to be human. What are their views? What techniques do they use? Can you find some overriding theme or idea? What is the effect of the demonstration of these ideas on the stage? All these sub-questions will nudge you to consider the nature of drama, the techniques and the ideas used within it, and the purpose with which drama is written.
