Describe one technique you could use to measure the threshold voltage for LEDs.

A sensitive ammeter is placed in series with LED. With the increase in Voltage, measure the potential difference value when it starts conducting. Black-out and shaded vision tube is used to observe the voltage value when visible light is first observed as the voltage is increased.

Derive the formula for the maximum kinetic energy of an electron emitted from a metal with work function energy p , that is illuminated by light of frequency f.

One of the decays of potassium (A=40, Z=19) results in an excited argon atom with excess energy of 1.50 Mev. In order to be stable, it emits a gamma photon. What frequency and wavelength has this gamma photon?

Can you explain the Work-Energy principle and how you can apply it in a simple situation such as a box sliding down a rough slope?

A mass, m, is resting on a slope being slowly tilted upwards from horizontal. The static friction co-efficient is 0.3 and the dynamic friction co-efficient is 0.2: at what angle will the mass begin to slip?
